Patrick Bevin, the reigning New Zealand national time trial champion, is a great asset when it comes to individual and team time trials. In 2018, Bevin recorded five top ten ITT or prologue finishes, including four at UCI WorldTour level and eighth at the UCI World Time Trial Championships. He was also part of the winning team time trial teams at the Tour de France and Tirreno-Adriatico.

Bevin has also shown his versatility at stage races where he can not only play a vital support role but he can also race for his own results with a series of top ten stage finishes on his palmarès. Most recently, in 2018, Bevin finished fourth overall at the OVO Energy Tour of Britain after a consistently strong performance saw him finish in the top ten on seven out of the eight stages.

I knew I wanted to be a professional cyclist when…

When I left High School, I went to the US to race, to travel and to live and it was from that moment that I knew to chase the goal of being a professional cyclist.

My greatest racing memory is…

It’s a hard question but it’s probably the team time trial win on stage 3 of the 2018 Tour de France.

The race I dream of winning is…

The UCI World Time Trial Championships

If I wasn’t a professional cyclist, I would be…

Most likely, an engineer.
